This year we have enjoyed another great summer of testing tents and camping outdoors. Before we upgrade to a larger Solus Air for next season, We wanted to share with you our favourite weekend tent, what we think is the Best air tent. The Solus Horizon 4 inflatable
There are so many reasons why we love this tent. Value for money, easy to put up, light and airy and just the right size for my girls and I. But are these enough reasons for you to invest in The Solus Horizon 4 inflatable? I am so dedicated to this air tent that I am here today to get technical and tell you all you need to know about the best air tent. The Solus Horizon 4 inflatable
Hi Gear Airgo Solus tents are inflatable, pole-free tents with individual inflation points on each Air Tube. It’s an incredibly quick pitching system that results in a sturdy, rigid tent that still has enough ‘give’ to cope with strong wind (premium Airgo tents have a single inflation point for all tubes, making for an even quicker ‘all in one’ pitching tent). Airgo Solus tents also use a lighter flysheet material than premium Airgo tents.
It takes me around ten minutes to inflate and peg the air tent on my own. I did swap the original tent pegs for rock pegs as I prefer better stability for my tent. The groundsheets are included in both sections and a carpet is available at an additional cost. the inside sleeping pod is a separate material from the outside of the tent, which means less condensation in the mornings. There are storage pockets sewn into the sleeping pod which make great use for storing a hot water bottle or cosy socks. The living area is big enough for a table and chairs and has two doors and windows with a vent. The main opening to the tent has a mesh door as well. Below are some of the more important details
Time to talk about the Hydrostatic Head. This is a very important feature to consider when choosing the right tent, especially if you are planning on camping in the UK. This number tells you how waterproof your tent is. The average tent is just 2000 mm which would still feel pretty damp in a downpour. The Solus Horizon 4 inflatable is 4000 mm. Nice and snug!
Another fab reason as to why we like this tent is because of the headroom. The Solus Horizon 4 inflatable may be a great weekend tent but it has enough room to stand up and manoeuvre around.
