My article today will be offering you advice and tips on how to pack for a cruise and walk tour.
Cruise companies are winning at their game and catering for almost every traveller, offering amazing itineraries and experiences. I have been on many excursions where a dedicated kit has been extremely useful, sharing this information with my readers will hopefully ensure an eventful excursion.
Providing a mood board for inspiration makes planning and packing for walking trips so much easier. The essentials are pictured above and I have included a collapsible water bottle to save on space. Apart from the obvious, sunhat, comfortable boots and travel sized sun cream, I highly recommend travelling as light as possible when out and about on walking adventures.
I always try to think ahead and prepare myself in advance before leaving the ship. My cruise card is sensibly put into a zip pocket somewhere safe and close to my body. I take a small coin purse in my backpack but keep separate notes elsewhere in my travel bag. And Mum mode always encourages me to pack a clear zip lock bag with a damp wipe inside. The possibilities of uses for a single bag with a cloth are endless. A wipe may come in handy for a spilt coffee, a small cut or to dust off a found fossil. The bag, however, could be used for small gifts, a rubbish bag or to simply keep your phone dry during bad weather.
Recently, I have been dreaming about river cruises. The challenge of packing light and exploring as a solo traveller fills me with excitement. Most of my research has been done over on the CroisiEurope website and I am persuaded at the thought of being able to decide whether to join in with the hiker’s excursion or the non-hikers itinerary upon every stop off point. Excursions only last a few hours which offers suitability for most travellers.
And of course, all of the tips and items listed above can be packed into a simple hand bag or beach bag. And here are some outfit ideas suitable for swooning around French villages or taking river walks.
