We have several camping trips planned for the summer and before heading off, I wanted to share with you my five unusual camping buys for kids. These are items that I feel have saved me time, brought comfort and kept my Daughter entertained whilst staying in a tent. All of my items listed can be purchased online or in a high street store.
Portable fold down wooden trays come in handy for playing games and eating snacks inside the tent. Even when the weather is sunny, it can be used as a lap tray for food whilst having a picnic. Lap trays are lightweight and easy to store. I believe I purchased our one from B&M Home stores.
Another one of my five unusual camping buys for kids are these puzzle mats. They can be used as seating, to support a wash basin when getting washed in the mornings, for water play or just simply to slide underneath air beds for protection from the ground. We purchased ours from Aldi supermarket last summer and they have been used many times.
Next up to save you time washing dishes is a multi-use dinner tray. several handy compartments mean placing a full meal including a sweet pudding on one serving. Great for use as a snack tray too and the deep sections hold raisins and other finger foods.
Ah, one of my favourite camping hacks is an inflatable kids bed with sides. I will never forget the first time we went on a cruise and I took my Daughters ready bed with us. A night full of rough sea’s left her rolling around the bedroom and totally insecure in her sleep. I immediately sourced a bed with barriers which kept her snug and left her bed clothes compact. Our pink bed was bought from Amazon and is still going strong after Three years.
Lastly, I am going to leave you with a Mr. Beams LED lantern. I love this device as it has a built-in USB which comes in handy for charging phones and IPads. Available from most good camping stores.
