This past weekend we had the opportunity of reviewing a family weekend trip #stayplayexplore on behalf of Leicester shire promotions. We opted to stay at the Hilton East Midlands hotel. We were so impressed with the overall standard of the hotel that I just had to blog about it!
After receiving a very warm welcome we headed straight to our family room. It was spacious with a double bed and a double pull down sofa bed which had been prepared. There were plenty of big soft pillows and the extra towels and toiletries that we would be needing for my Daughter. I took this trip with my Sister and my five-year-old and we could have easily fit another child into one of the beds. I popped down to the bar and ordered a glass of wine and some ice cream for my Daughter. Whilst I was at the bar, I had a look at the restaurant menu and immediately decided we would have our dinner there. Upon return to my room, a text message came through on my mobile – it was from barbara the hotel receptionist asking if everything was good with our room. Such a thoughtful touch.
We wandered down to dinner and Olivia decided instantly that she was going to have her favorite spag bol. My Sister and I had a much harder decision to make. The choices on the menu were so mouthwatering, it was actually arduous to choose. I settled for a piece of slow cooked beef whilst my sister had a curry. The presentation was top notch. Of course, we all had a pudding to finish off our evening. We showered and popped ourselves in bed, Olivia watched her portable DVD player whilst my sister and I had a good catch up. There was a lot of giggling across the room and hopefully, we were not too noisy. Such a great settlement for a girly sleepover.
The next morning we woke and the girls went swimming. I looked at the pool and gym and again was really impressed. One of my reasons for choosing the Hilton east midlands was for the fact that there was a swimming pool on site. The water was warm and there is a changing area at the pool provided. You can also grab towels from there too.
Breakfast was delightful but unfortunately, I did not take my camera as we were all packed up and ready to check out for another day of fun ahead. Overall we were really impressed with the Hilton east midlands hotel and highly recommend the establishment for families.
